The history of Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume

The Coteaux du Layon 1er cru Chaume is the only « 1er cru » of the Loire Valley.  Chaume hamlet in the heart of the hill is part of Rochefort sur Loire town.

 

Coteaux du Layon 1er cru Chaume wines

Recognizable with its deep and amber reflection, it explodes in the mouth with honey, acacia and confied fruits aromas.
Because of the the high sugar level of the Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume,  vintages can be kept for centuries.

 

Exceptional wine and food pairings

These noble sweet wines go perfectly with some Foie gras puff pastry, blue cheeses or exotic fruit desserts.
