Conducive soil and climate

Located in the heart of Anjou, the geographical aera is crossed by a steep hill spreading out above the Layon river, belonging to Rochefort sur Loire. The exceptional geological complexity and its south exposure give the vineyard some ideal conditions for the Noble Rot development due to the morning mist.

 

The history of Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru

Dated from a Middle ages ‘ custom where the farmers had to give the quarter of the harvest to the lord,Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru has always been part of the AOC the most prestigious Anjou appellation. In 2011  the appellation became a Quart de Chaume « Grand Cru » . It is actually the only one of the Loire Valley.

Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru is opulent, smooth with a fabulous creaminess. These wines are powerful and fresh at the same time with floral, citrus, exotic and dried fruit
